| In Jan 1964 the Liverpool - York mail train hauled by 45695 "Minotaur" came to grief at Timperley.
The wooden bodied vehicles were smashed and the incident was attended by breakdown gangs from Edge Hill MPD and Gorton MPD. It was a very cold day and sleeting, hence the white blobs on the pics, which have faded a bit with the passage of time but in view of the historical importance I think are worth presenting. |
